O.k., o.k., I hope that some of you would request an interview, cuz it'd be darn nice to know more of, and more about the folks I've befriended here in lj-land.
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I respond by asking you 5 personal questions so I can get to know you better. If I already know you well, expect the questions maybe a little more intimate.*
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the 5 questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to interview someone elss in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.
Play on!
This interview was from my friend Hoobird of Arizona.
1.Thinking of your first encounter with a ghost (where you realized what it was), did the experience scare you, or fascinate you more?
Wow! Good one. I've had paranormal activity all around me my whole life. I've only seen apparitions once, that was also the MOST TERRIFYING paranormal encounter that I've ever had. Here's the Reader's Digest version on that. One early Summer's night, my roommate, Jeff and I, went to a park in West Seattle called Lincoln Park (it's in White Center, West of Burien if you look on a map). We were there at about 2 or 3 A.M. We both walked along a path that led under an archway and tunnel of pine trees. We saw apparitions by the restroom building and on each side of the path going into the tunnel. About half way thru the tunnel, I turn to Jeff and say "If we get to the end of this path, I think we are going to both be slaughtered." All of the blood ran out of Jeff's face as he concurred with me. We cut thru the pine trees to our left, cut across the long soccer/ football field at the front of the park, got in the car and made an illegally fast exit from Lincoln Park. The feeling of death (and SHEER STARK TERROR) followed us home and we got to sleep around 4 A.M. with ALL of the house lights on. AS I sit and recall this event, I can still feel the overwhelming fright of it. It's been the only truly scary ghost experience, and the only one that I've ever actually seen a ghost. One more quick item, then question 2. Back in November, my roommate was away at a conference, and I was the only 'person' in the apartment and I was putting laundry in the washer. My bedroom light was on (behind me) and the door open. I looked up at the wall behind the washer and dryer, and a shadow moved across the wall. It was a little unnerving, but got my curiosity, especially because the space to move in to cast a shadow would only have been about 12 - 18 inches!
2. You are a Weird Al Yankovic song. Which one do you relate to best, and why?
Another good one! This one is hard, I can't give just one, so I'll give the ones that would be 'Mark'. I'd be Smells Like Nirvana. I grew up in South Seattle and now I live in cow country. The cow mooing in that song on the instrumental refrain, and the gargling... YEP! Also I'd be White & Nerdy, cuz I just can't pick between James T.Kirk and Picard in Star Trek... I also go to game cons and all of that stuff. I'd also be Taco Grande, cuz, well... listen to the song. I am also into Can't Watch This... I watch so little t.v., that I almost feel like those lyrics are my total view on the one eyed monster... long live CSI, everyone else take a hike!
3. If you were to design your own zoo, how would yous be different from all the others?
AWESOME!!!!!! Here we go. I've thought about having a "Zooquarium" since I was a kid. What would set mine apart? I would have animals that you won't just find in any zoo, if at all in captivity. I would want to be the AZA's (American Zoo & Aquarium Asociation) "I died and went to animal heaven" Zooquarium. Did you know of the 5 (or is it 6) gorilla species on the planet, only 1 (the Western Lowland) is displayed in zoos, yet ALL are mortally endangered? I'd be the only zoo to have ALL 5 or 6 (Mt. Gorillas, Eastern, Red River Crossing etc.). Most zoos only have Reticulated giraffe, I'd have All of those too, Rothschild's, Massai, Ugandan, etc.. In Indonesia, Malaysia and Papau New Guinea there are more new life forms being found than ever in previous history... I'd be exhibiting some of the lost relic animals from that part of the world. Of Tree Kangaroos, only 3 kinds are displayed, the Matschies being most popular... I'd have all of them. There are 0 zoos in the entire world that display Pygmy Elephants... I'd display both, the Sumatran, and the Congo species... you know ANYTHING about Pygmy Elephants? They're AWESOME! A large percentage of the worlds bats are endangered... hmmm! I'd beseech the New Zealand government to allow me to be the only zoo out side of New Zealand to display the Kakapo (the only flightless parrot in the world... there are only 80 or so, good luck ever seeing one in person in your life time!) and Keas. Woodland Park Zoo has Keas... the worlds only Alpine Parrot/ Mountain/ Snow Parrot! I'd also request of the Australian government to allow for Tasmanian Devils to be displayed at my zoo and would seek oto have the largest display of marsupials in the Northern hemisphere! Hairy nosed wombat and BOTH long nose and short nosed Echidnas! How about wolvereens? Only a handful of zoos have them too! And Woodland Bison! There are only a few hudred in all the world and they are up in Canada... not a subspecies, but a bison species all its own. On Bison, European Bison would get displayed too! in that regard, I'd see if I couldn't display Vancouver Island wolves, and the Vancouver Island Marmot, bot are only in the teen to twenties in population! Bactrain and Dromedary Camels, Pere Davids and Sika Deer... won't see them except very rarely (I've seen both...pictures too!) I'd devise a way to exhibit a Great White Shark and Whale Sharks. Only 4 Aquariums in the world have Whale sharks, and only 1 of those 4 is in the U.S. (the Georgia Aquarium... 6 Million Gallon exhibit! 3 Whale sharks), the others are in Asia! How about throwing in a Giant Squid exhibit? Never been one in captivity... why not my zooquarium?! I could go on and on about why my zoo would be out over the edge... I want people to see and revere the most rare and sacred life on the planet... I mean, you can go to any zoo and see 'a bear', 'a zebra', 'a lion'... on lions, did you know that no zoos in America display the Asiatic lion that is down to only maybe 200 in the world? My God, I'd breed them suckers! Anyway... Final thought... I am a true believer in Cryptozoology and I would want to be the first (and possibly the only) zoo to display a Sasquatch/ Yeti, or North American Ape, such as the Florida Skunk Ape.
4. How did you "almost, but not quite" end up on the Spider-man 2 sound track?
Well, I was with a band called 'Broken Skin' that was being scouted by the reps from Nickleback's label, they were out of Canada. Anyway, the bands that got placed on the Spider-man sound track came from that label. Long story short, some of the younger guys ego's flared, and the whole thing went to Hell in a hand basket. I still have the only copy of our demo stuff... a 21 or 22 song demo. I produced 5 of the tracks, and would've been producer/ co-producer on our studio stuff, but... Oh well. Hearts're breakin' all over with stories similar to the 'Broken Skin' dilemma. So close, yet so far away!
5. What has been the most difficult challenge you have had to face in your life (so far) & do you think you handled it well?
I have two 'difficulties', which could be looked at as my life long nemesis... my weight, and my income level. I've bobbled with my weight my whole life. There have been times when I've had great victory and success, and other times that I've given up in misery and failure. My short answer to these is "It's better to shoot for something and fail than to shoot for nothing and succeed." And "You can make an excuse, or you can make a success, but you CAN'T make BOTH". I know this reality all too well. I've been a full contact martial artist, an actor, a stand up comic, a semi-pro/ pro musician, an entrepreneur... so many things, yet so much nothing (to show for all of it). The space I'm in is a very good one. I finally feel like I will gain and attain the successes with both my weight (health) and my finances for the first time in my life, this year. I am very excited and am glad that you asked! So, there it all is folks... NEXT!!!!!!!!:) |
